' It is such a good book I've ever read. '

Silas Marner is a very good story describing the main character, Silas, bringing up a poor little girl. Silas Marner was a poor weaver. He lived in the Lantern Yard in the northern of England. Everyone in the Lantern Yard thought that he murdered a dying old man. So he moved to another town called Raveloe. There he went on weaving and selling clothes. Eppie was the girl whom Silas took care of. Her real father was Godfrey Cass and her mother, Molly Farren dead from drinking a lot of poisonous liquid. She was a beautiful girl but a serving-girl. Mr. Godfrey liked her but his father wouldn't allow them to marry. Without his consent, they married and then kept it as a secret. No one else except Dustan Cass, Godfrey's brother knew about this matrimony as he liked Nancy, too. They were going to marry soon. How about Molly Farren? She gave birth to a young girl. That was how Eppie was born. When she was a two-year-old girl, she was brought to a party. On the way to the party, Molly drank a lot of poisonous liquid and had not been found until several hours later. Her baby walked towards the room which was holding a party. Silas Mariner found her and kept it as his own. She gave her the name Eppie. That as how she became Silas' daughter and got her name. Up to now, I found that Mr. Silas was a helpful person. He always helped people in need. He liked to try everything. He was a weaver at the beginning of the story. He tried to be someone's father. In this way, taking care of Eppie was Silas' responsibility. Let's see if he was a good father. In the following years, with the help of Mrs. Winthro, Eppie became a beautiful girl. However, she was naughty in her childhood. Silas tried to stop her from her impish behaviour. Molly suggested giving punishments to Eppie, otherwise she would be naughty again and again. One of the good methods was to hit her hard. Silas was a kind man. She did not dare hit hare. He thought that she was his gold. Molly gave another suggestion. It was to put her into the coal-hole. To everyone's surprise, she liked to play inside it. Luckily, she learned to behave herself as she grew older. In Eppie's childhood, we learned how Silas tried his best to take care of Eppie. When he found that Eppie was naughty, he tried as hard as he could to teach her. He was a kind man, as one learns from the book. He tried not to hit Eppie as a punishment. He thought of other ways too. This shows how kind he really was. What are Nancy and her husband going on about? They had a happy time. However, they had no children. They wanted to adopt Eppie. Sadly though, Eppie did not accept. They tried to make Eppie happier. Later, Silas together with his daughter travelled to a small village called Lantern Yard. That was the placed where Silas first lived. There were big changes since Silas left. Big factories were

built with black smokes coming out of the chimneys. Everyone knew nothing about Silas Marner. They thought that he was just a stranger. Silas Marner was extremely heartbroken. They went home unhappily. In the end, it makes me feel happy. Eppie married Aarson. They had a big house with a bigger garden than before. Mr. Cass had built more rooms for the house as Eppie was their real daughter. In the story I found out that Godfrey was a greedy person. He already had a spouse. How could he so selfish? His spouse Molly was dead because of him. If I were him, I would never be selfish as him. If one really made a wrong decision, one should apologise for it. He is one of the characters I hate most. On the other hand, Silas Marner was the person I liked most. He was kind and helpful, as I have mentioned before. I admire him very much. I will always try to be kind and helpful as Silas is. He was such a good man that I will never forget him. Eppie was a beautiful girl. She is one of the persons I liked most. One who always behaves badly will become a bad person easily. However, Eppie was an excellent person. She didn't behave badly as she matured into a lady. This is why I like her most. I am going to introduce this book to my dear friends. It doesn't have beautiful pictures, but it is full of rich content. There is a glossary at the back of the book, a note for the author and the story is included in this book. The note of the author is the give me some extra knowledge. It is such a good book I've ever read.
