We had a fruitful harvest in the 50th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, presented and organized by the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association annually. The competitions of the Festival were held from 23 February to 14 March this year. Our students who had participated in the Music Festival got prizes or merits in most events.

We are proud of the good result of Senior Choir, it had its first appearance by singing the song 'Soldiers' Choruses' by Verdi with the best voices, we took the second place. The Senior Mixed choir , with students of Ho Tung Tech. Sch for Girls, got 84 marks in the Senior class of mixed choir competition but didn't get any prizes though we sang very well in the competition. We would look forward a better result next year.

The results of intermediate choir are fine. The choir got 80 marks and came third in the Chinese section. The Mixed choir, got 82 marks and the second place with the girls of True Light Girls' College in the intermediate class of the Mixed Choir competition singing in Chinese.

We had an unexpected result of Junior Choir. The choir members sang in their best in the competition, earning 84 marks and the third place. It is the best gift for Miss Hwong and the choir members.

The performance of our orchestra should be awarded. The Chinese Orchestra and String Orchestra performed well and got the third place in their competition. The Western Orchestra played 'Rosamunde Suite' by Suhubert, got 83 marks without any places.

There has been a great harvest in solo competitions this year. Chiu Yin To of F.3, got 92 marks and captured the first place in the advance class of ' ' solo. Yeung Hong of F.4, a great pianist in the school , got 86 marks and came third in the advance group of piano solo. Thung Chi Ming of F.6 , had captured the third place in both competitions of Wind concerto and Clarinet solo in senior class. For Tenor solo, Lam Kwok Wai of 4W got 86 marks and came second in the competition.

After the Music Festival this year, I would say thanks to all the members who tried for the Music Festival painstakingly and our music teacher and advisor, Ms. Hwong and Mr So, for their teaching and encouraging.
