The report of the Cross Country Team 1997-1998
It was the twelfth time our Cross Country Team joined the Inter-school Cross Country Championship. This year, most of our team members came from the football team. As the football team practised very often, we only had few extra practices. However, some members still practised very hard for the competition.
The competition was held at the Hong Kong Sports Institute on 28th November. This was the day after Speech Day. On that day, the weather was fine and there was some sunshine. The C-Grade competition began at about ten o'clock. We had two good runners: Lok Sau Fung and Ng Ka Ho. They came sixth and eighth respectively. The rest may have lacked experience, but they still tried their best. Overall we ranked sixth in Grade C. For the B-Grade, our strongest team, our star runner Tse Chun Ming ranked fifth. Chau See Yan and Leung Chi Hang came seventh and sixteenth respectively. Chan Kai Yip ranked twenty-first. We ranked third in Grade B. For the A-Grade team, the new runners: Ho Simon Peter and Tong Kwai Wing achieved good results. They ranked twenty-sixth and twenty-eighth respectively. We ranked eighth in Grade A. Although the overall result was not satisfactory, we were able to remain in Division Two for the following years.
Finally, I would like to thank Mr. Tang and Mr. Wong for their help and advice. I hope that we can have a better result in future.
